Sixteen years ago, I relocated to Los Angeles, where I met my husband, started a family, and poured my heart into writing multiple books. As the flames rage and the air fills with smoke, I find myself questioning whether it is wise to remain in a place so vulnerable to natural disasters. The safety and well-being of my family are paramount, and the thought of relocating to North Carolina has become increasingly appealing.
In North Carolina, we envision a different lifestyle, one that may offer a sense of security and stability. While the decision to leave behind the life we've built is daunting, the prospect of a fresh start is enticing. As we weigh our options, the fires serve as a stark reminder of the unpredictability of life in California.
